You might hear someone talk about “so & so” as the GOAT- the greatest of all time in their area of expertise… whether in the sports or entertainment worlds, etc. (Why don’t we talk about that for important jobs like teachers & doctors?) We might exclaim about the greatest cheeseburger we’ve ever eaten (or whatever you like to eat!)… you get the point.
But the greatest DAY of all time had to be when Jesus stepped out of the tomb, just days after suffering a horrific death on a Roman cross nearly 2,000 years ago. This Resurrection Sunday, what we often refer to as Easter, changed everything. Had Jesus remained in the tomb, the apostle Paul says that our faith in Him would be pointless and we’d still be lost in our sins (see 1 Corinthians 15:12-19).
However, we know that Christ Jesus did rise on that pivotal day! Because of that, we enjoy an unquenchable hope that starts the moment we receive Jesus as our Savior by faith, and that carries us to a certain day in the future, when we’ll be with our Lord forever.
I encourage you to live in the light of the Greatest Day Ever throughout the year, not just on Easter Sunday. It’s for our good personally, and more so, it points others to King Jesus, who is alive to this day!
